The Wheezy Riders ride again! Please join me in my efforts to support the Alpha-1 Foundation and their ongoing mission to find a cure!
September is the Alpha-1 Foundation's Riding for a Reason month, and I will once again be riding my bike to help raise awareness and funds for Alpha-1, and I am asking for your help. Your donation will help support the great programs and research conducted to find a cure for Alpha-1, and any contribution is greatly appreciated.
I was diagnosed with Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency in 2010. I was 35 years old, and my lung function was around 30%. I currently use oxygen when I exert myself, and you will see me on my bike with my O2 concentrator, and of course, my purple mohawk. I am determined to not let my disability stop me, and I am dedicated to helping raise awareness about Alpha-1, and doing fundraising, so the great doctors and researchers in the Alpha-1 community can help find a cure. Living with Alpha-1 related lung disease, and/or liver disease is not easy, and I want to do what I can to help this important cause.
