Join me in my efforts to support the
Alpha-1 Foundation!
On October 8, 2023. I will be running my first trail half marathon at the Crazy Horse Monument in South Dakota. While I have completed many half marathons before, this race will be significant. I will be dedicating my run to my husband, who fights Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency every day of his life, also his younger brother who we lost to Alpha-1 when he was only 21 years old, and his Mother who we lost in 2021. The race happens to fall on my dearly missed mother-in-law’s birthday.
I will be running to raise funds for research and awareness of Alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency. This genetic condition can go unnoticed for years and when finally diagnosed, lung capacity is already critically low. With your help, research to find a cure as well as more accessible testing is possible. Any donations or support will be greatly appreciated.
